Presentation guidelines

If you have not received an explicit invitation for a talk, your abstract submission is scheduled as a poster.

Talks

There are two types of talks:

  • Invited full talks: 20 min + 10 min for questions and discussions
  • Short talks: 10 min + 5 min for questions and discussion.
    Note that in Session 3.2 "New Perspectives", time for questions is only 2 min.

We would like to ask all speakers to keep to their allotted time!

Quick-fire presentations

Five posters per session were randomly selected for Quick-fire talks, which take place on Monday and Tuesday before the poster sessions. The selected presenters then have the chance to introduce their posters:

  • Max. 3 min presentation time
  • Max. 2 slides, as a single 2-paged PDF
  • No videos, no animations!
  • The PDF with the two slides needs to be submitted until September 15th via email (abstract@erm2023.eu)

Posters

Poster sessions

The usable area of the poster boards is 90 x 140 cm (width x height).

Posters are presented in one of two poster sessions, as detailed in the program:

  • Session 1: Monday, Sept 18 (16:45 – 19:00)
  • Session 2: Tuesday, Sept 19 (17:00 – 19:15)

In each session, poster boards are numbered A to C and 1 to 16 (e.g., A1, C4 ...).
Presenters find their poster board number in the program booklet, which participants will recieve as a PDF via email and as a printed book at the meeting.

Poster repository

The ERM 2023 repository can be found under http://posters.erm2023.eu.

Poster presenters are encouraged to upload their poster (as a .pdf or .png). This is entirely voluntary, and posters can be taken down at any time, if needed (however the default is to keep them online until you tell us otherwise).

To upload your poster, there are 2 options:

  1. Just send it to t.baden@sussex.ac.uk as .pdf or .png and I will upload it for you.
  2. Make yourself an account, request access (top right) and once approved, you can do it yourself.

The same 2 options apply if and when you want to take it down again.

When preparing your .pdf or .png, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Make sure that the file size is reasonable (ideally <10 MB). If your poster comes out much bigger than that, it is probably because it contains layered objects. Just render the whole thing instead, that collapses the layers. (or, if .png, because your resolution is too high).
  • Please name it as follows (e.g., “A123 Smith – Bipolar cell physiology.pdf")
    • Poster Number
    • Your surname
    • Mini description of topic
